1997 Nissan Skyline GTS25t Type M (ECR33) — Gunmetal

Type M was the sporting grade of the GTS25t, and on an ECR33 it brought the RB25DET turbocharged 2.5-litre inline-six with a manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive, coded FR on the Japanese paperwork. Where the GT-R sends power to all four wheels, this car keeps it simple and sends it to the back.

June 1997 registration puts it near the end of R33 production, the last full year before the R34 arrived in 1998. Gunmetal is the colour, and it hides the R33's long rear overhang better than the brighter options do.

The odometer read 191,000 km. That's high, and it deserves a plain statement rather than a euphemism. An RB25DET with that mileage will have had turbo and timing work at some point, or it will need it, so the maintenance record is the first thing to ask about.
